BEST (Board of European Students of Technology) is a European, non-profit, non-political, student, voluntary organization. Since 1989, it offers opportunities for communication, cooperation and cultural exchanges between students across Europe.

It operates through 90 local BEST groups in 32 countries, which create a growing, well-organized, strong, young and innovative network of students. It targets technology students and employs more than 3500 members every day. On the other hand, its activities reach more than one and a half million students each year.

BEST, as an organization, offers three main services to students through its activities:

  1. Providing supplementary education
  2. Provision of complementary services.
  3. Providing professional training.

In addition, there are 5 values that govern the organization: fun, friendship, flexibility, improvement and learning.

BEST encourages “Empowered Diversity” being its vision and helps European technology students to acquire an international mindset by reaching a deeper understanding of European cultures.

Furthermore, with the mission “Developing students” it aims to help students to enhance their soft skills such as teamwork, collaboration, appropriate time management and leadership development, in order to develop the ability to work in an international environment.

Some of the main activities of BEST are BEST Courses, (academic seminars related to a contemporary technological topic), and EBEC (European BEST Engineering Competition), an engineering competition where students are given the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge they have acquired from the school in practice. Furthermore, BEST organizes labor market related activities, giving students opportunities through career support events (BEST Soft Skills Track, company visits, workshops) to get closer to the professional future they dream of.

At the same time, a wider context is created in which the members of the organization, through the organization of various actions, can share knowledge, gain experience in organizing and managing an action and develop as a whole.
